Custom web application development: internal systems and client portals

Custom web application development, for us, means applications, not websites: a system your people work in every day, or a portal for your clients. We have shipped 15+ production projects since 2023, and clients stay with us 18+ months.

Need mostly a mobile app for iOS and Android? See cross-platform mobile app development.

What it looks like in practice

KIABA’s forwarders had their work scattered across a shared Excel file and email. We built them a web application they work in every day, and we run it. The system belongs to them. It is one of 15+ production projects we have delivered since 2023.

The KIABA story

What changes for you

One app in the browser and on the phone

For a company with boxes of accounting documents we built a web app for admins and a mobile app for Android and iOS that scans documents. Every document is available instantly.

A digital archive instead of paper

Screens the finance team trusts

We are rebuilding a fintech company’s financial reports as screens in its own app. The rule: a new screen first shows the same number as the old one.

Financial report migration

Operations that hold up

Launch is not the end. One client’s online marketplace fell from 250,000 to 66,000 pageviews a month after its crawler died in December 2025. Since then, monitoring is part of every launch.

A marketplace from scratch

What people come to us with

A freight forwarder“Off-the-shelf forwarding software does not fit how we work, so we patch it in Excel.”

How we solve it: We build a system around how you work and run it; the code and data are yours.

Example: We built and run the freight forwarder KIABA its own system. They find a carrier in under 10 minutes, down from 30 to 45 minutes. Case study

Owner of a company that grew up on Excel“Everyone has their own Excel and nobody knows which version is right.”

How we solve it: We build one system in place of the spreadsheets, owned by you, with no per-seat fee.

Example: A freight forwarder worked in a shared spreadsheet; today it works in a system it owns. Case study

How we work

The hard part is not a screen. It is sign-in and permissions for different roles, connecting accounting or the online shop, data that must never disappear, and operations that keep running at night.

We get back to you within two business days, and together we pick what to fix first.
Instead of a quote you get a list: what will be done and how you can check it.
The first version in weeks, not months.
Then small steps every week or two.
Senior judgment, AI as the method, and Filip answers for the result.
Clients stay with us for 18+ months.

When we don't recommend it

  • You need a website or a brochure page. We do not build those.
  • You need a native app with heavy graphics (a game, 3D, AR, demanding video). We do not build those; a native studio fits better.
  • An off-the-shelf SaaS covers almost everything and you can work around the rest. Stay with it.
  • You need a simple form or a link between two tools for a few hundred euros. A no-code tool (Make, n8n) or a freelancer fits that better.

A system for KIABA dispatchers, not Excel

One tool that replaced Excel and endless phone calls. Every carrier on one clear map. Finding a carrier takes under 10 minutes, down from 30 to 45 minutes.

Proof, not promises

The goal is a working business. Software is just the tool.

What month one looks like

  • Week one: we write down the roles, who sees and does what in the app, pick the first part of the system or portal and list what will be done after month one. The guarantee is measured against that list.
  • Every week a test version in the browser that your people or clients can try. You go through the feedback directly with Filip.
  • End of the month: the first version from the list, with login and permissions per role, on your infrastructure. Then we roll it out in the company and fine-tune it.
  • A fixed price fits a bounded scope. The monthly subscription fits when you want to grow the app step by step.

What it costs

Try the first month. If we miss what we wrote down, we refund 50 %. Monthly subscription from €3,980 excl. VAT, pause or cancel any time. Or a fixed price per project: tell us what you need and we send you a quote and a list of what we deliver. Code, data and infrastructure owned by the client from day one.

Month one starts with a written list: what we deliver and how you can check it. The 50 % money back is measured against it.

Only your own hosting and AI model usage. You pay them directly to the providers, not through us.

After launch you get 30 days of support. Then you pause the subscription. When something needs changing or adding, you resume it and we carry on. After you cancel, the software, data and infrastructure stay yours. When you leave, we fix the bugs from the last month.

B2B portal or B2B e-commerce store? How to choose

A B2B e-commerce store sells to new business customers. A B2B portal serves the ones you already have: their prices, orders, delivery status and invoices. Comparison, self-test and what drives the cost of a portal.

How much does custom software cost?

The cost of custom software depends on the number of processes, integrations, data migration and who runs it. With us from €3,980 a month, or a fixed price for a bounded scope. Compared with projects and SaaS.

Software ownership and vendors

Who owns the source code of custom software?

Under Slovak copyright law, the client exercises the economic rights to software made to order. But rights are not the same as having the code. What to check in the contract and at handover.

Frequently asked questions

15-minute meeting with Filip
What is the difference between a website and a web application?
A website informs: it presents a company and its services. A web application does work: you sign in and handle jobs, orders, documents or reports in it. We build only applications, not websites.
Do you build mobile apps too?
Yes, when we build them with web technologies: PWA or Expo / React Native. One codebase gives you an app for iOS and Android, and often a web version too. We do not build native Swift or Kotlin apps or apps with heavy graphics.
How much does web application development cost?
From €3,980 a month excl. VAT, or a fixed price per project. Instead of a quote you get a list: what will be done and how you can check it.
How long does web application development take?
We build the first version fast (on one project in under 10 working days). Most of the time goes into rolling it out in the company: people start using it, give feedback and we fine-tune it.
Who owns the app and the source code?
You do, from day one. The repository, data and hosting are on your account. Maintainable code, clear to any next engineer.

Which work would your people rather do in one app?

Tell us. We get back to you within two business days, and together we pick what to fix first.
