Overview

KIABA is a logistics company. Their speditors spent 30-45 minutes per search digging through Excel sheets and old emails to find carriers. Data was scattered, no geographic search, no filtering by truck type. We built iSPEDitér — a search system with a map. Result: carrier search dropped to under 2 minutes.

The system lets speditors search carriers by location, vehicle type, and capacity on an interactive map. Features include radius search, instant company lookup from the business registry, multi-location support, quick contact actions (call, email, WhatsApp from one screen), and bulk import/export. Searches run in under 2 seconds. Used 20-40 times daily.

The challenge

Data lived everywhere. Excel files. Email contacts. Handwritten notes. When a customer called needing a truck for tomorrow, speditors had to manually check multiple sources, call carriers one by one, verify they had the right truck type, and confirm they operated in the right region. Sometimes customers went to competitors because KIABA was too slow.

What went wrong along the way

First version had fixed filters — "cargo", "small van", "flatbed trailer". After launch we quickly realized this doesn't work: every carrier has specific vehicles that can't fit into predefined categories. We rebuilt filters to be fully dynamic. We also underestimated data entry time — speditors were busy and the system was half-empty for the first weeks. Solution: add/update carriers during every phone call. Gradual adoption instead of "big bang" migration.
